Description

Role Requirements -

  • Provide technical support and research for delivering tax services to clients, collaborating with relevant Partners to address client needs.
  • Prepare complex personal tax returns.
  • Delegate tasks to assistants and trainees, review their work, and offer constructive feedback.
  • Conduct tax planning, handle compliance matters, and respond to client inquiries, while preparing correspondence and liaising with Partners.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to understand principles of residency, domicile, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and taxation related to death estates and trusts.
  • Manage the full delivery of tax computations and returns for more complex cases, addressing all aspects of tax accounting.
  • Navigate tax issues for company owners, including efficient cash extraction, business asset disposal relief, and company setup or closure, including transfer processes and group rebates.
  • Collaborate with the team to share insights and ideas, fostering communication and achieving team objectives. Coach and mentor others to enhance their tax knowledge.
  • Establish a profile as a technical expert and create a professional network outside the firm through technology and event participation.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and deepen understanding of the firm’s services to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support marketing and business development efforts by writing articles and researching specific topics as needed.
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities to generate new business in collaboration with Partners.
  • Engage positively with the business and promote the firm’s values.
  • Take responsibility for personal and professional development to advance learning and career progression.
  • Act with honesty, fairness, and integrity in all interactions with clients, contacts, and team members, while maintaining confidentiality and building trust.

Person Requirements -

  • Professionally qualified – e.g. ATT or CTA and qualified by experience
  • 10 - 12 years experience
  • Develop good technical and compliance knowledge and skills and develop an area of expertise with support
  • Understand and identify business risk
  • Effective use of business tools
